A PODCAST
Podcasting and video blogging are natural extensions of
the text-based weblog (Blog).
In
its most basic form, a podcast or audio blog is simply an
audio file referenced as an enclosure by a blog
that can be downloaded. Video blogs are the same thing,
but the enclosure is a video file. These files are not streamed,
they are downloaded. That means that a normal web server
can host the files. The enclosures included in
podcasts and video blogs can be copied to your computer
for you to consume at any point in time. They can also be
automatically aggregated from various sources into a single
web-based feed so that you don't have to go to all the source
websites to consume them - they're all right there at the
top of your Earthlink, MSN, Yahoo or Google personal homepage.
